Meet David Lubin

David Lubin’s story is one that no parent wants to endure. After graduating from Dunwoody High School, David’s eldest daughter, Rose, volunteered for the Israeli Defense Force. Inspired by the public service of her parents and grandparents, faith, and a duty to defend the Middle East’s only democracy, Rose’s life was cut short by a knife-wielding terrorist in Jerusalem.

Devastated, David turned his grief into action. He partnered with several Democratic lawmakers to pass House Bill 30, which strengthens Georgia’s hate crimes law to protect victims of antisemitism. Though the bill passed with overwhelming bipartisan support, David was shocked that his State Senator, Sally Harrell, refused to vote, despite antisemitism proliferation in our community.

David’s Background

A small business owner and construction professional, David partners with local governments to build affordable housing, medical centers, affordable senior living communities, and sustainable municipal infrastructure, like fire stations and greenspaces. He knows that consensus and pragmatism are the surest tools to deliver results for the community.

David was born to public servants in eastern Tennessee who instilled the values of hard work, service to others, and treating everyone with dignity and respect. Those values carried him through the University of Georgia and helped him establish a thriving small business from the ground up in the district. He’s passed those values onto his children who he’s raised in Atlanta for 25 years.
