Common Sense Gun Safety
Weapons of war have no place in our communities. And as a father with kids in our public schools, Stephanie and I – like so many parents – fear the day that our schools could be the target of the next mass shooting.
Combatting Gun Violence
Gun violence is a public health emergency, and should be treated with the same level of science and reason we ascribe to other crises. We can attack the root causes of gun violence, like mental health and poverty, and prescribe real policies that take guns out of the hands of criminals. And, we can do all of this while preserving the second amendment.
As your State Senator, I will work towards:
- Red flag laws that disarm domestic abusers and violent criminals
- More school counselors and resource officers to identify troubled students and recommend mental health services.
- Secure storage laws that mandate gun owners keep guns securely away from children.
