An equitable, accessible, and high-quality education that prepares our students for a changing world is the best way to build strong, vibrant communities. Yet, teachers are paid too little and are asked too much.
Our funding is outdated
Georgia’s graduation rate is steadily climbing but is still below the national average. Our state has a record surplus, yet we use a funding formula that hasn’t been updated since the 80’s. Funding is key to boosting our education system.
As your State Senator, I’ll work to fund:
- Higher teacher pay, better teacher recruitment and retention.
- The resources teachers need to educate our students.
- Technology, tutoring, and afterschool services.
- Smaller classes and extracurricular activities.
